Easy To Use

Power Button – Activate Looftlighter X by pressing the Power Button for 2 seconds.

The device is now activated and ready to use.

For safety reasons, it will stay activated for 10 seconds and automatically deactivate if no action is taken during this time.

Burn Button – Initiates the Automatic Ignition Program, designed to optimize igniting and preserving battery power by balancing the two most important elements of igniting – Heat and Oxygen.

The heating element will now be at its max level, with the fan gradually increasing.

Boost Button – Once ignited, the key element needed to boost the fire is oxygen, the boost button will set the fan at its full speed and shut down the heating element, giving you a powerful airflow to get the fire boosted while preserving the power of your battery. (At any time, you can switch between Burn- and Boost button)

The Looft Lighter tech just got smarter with the addition of the Automatic Ignition Program. Getting the balance of heat and airflow just right in the ignition phase, means that it’s as fast as possible and saves on battery power. Enjoy an effortless fire in 60 seconds with a click of a button – lighting your fuel has never been smoother.

START YOUR GRILL WITH LOOFT LIGHTER X
Light It Up — Set up a pile of fuel you like, charcoal, woodchips or logs. Touch them with the tip of the Looft Lighter and press the button.
Hit The Spot — Keep your Looft Lighter aimed towards the same spot for around 60 seconds.
Pull Back A Bit — When sparks or a glow appears, pull back the Looft Lighter a few inches and press the boost button. Giving it space will help the heat to spread out and do its magic.

START YOUR FIREPLACE WITH LOOFT LIGHTER X
Get started — Start by blowing hot air up the chimney for around 30 seconds to get the draught going and reduce the amount of smoke released in your room.
Light It Up — Place some paper in between the logs, touch the paper with the tip of the Looft Lighter and turn it on.
Pull Back A Bit — Once ignited, move it back a bit, press the boost button and keep aiming at the same spot until you have a good fire going.

Customer FAQ

My Looftlighter won’t start what do I do?

If your lighter won’t start we have a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. Due to our safety standards, we only replace not repair our products. If your lighter is broken, please refer to our warranty claim procedures.

Should I use lighter fluid along with the Looftlighter?

NO, you do not need and should never use lighter fluid, lighter cubes, pre-drenched charcoal or any other chemicals to light a barbecue or hearth fire. The chemicals contribute to CO2 emissions, they are dangerous and could add a bad taste to the food. The Looftlighter is a green and eco-friendly product!

How long does it take to start charcoal with the Looftlighter?

With the Looftlighter, you light a fire in 60 seconds. You can then leave the charcoal to get ready on its own (takes approximately 20 minutes) or you can continue using the lighter and fast-forward the process, which makes the fire ready in 4-5 minutes depending on the quality of the charcoal.

My Looftlighter has melted in the front, what do I do?

If the aluminium heat shield has melted, you have kept the lighter too close to the fire. Looft Industries provides a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase and only comprises manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover self-caused issues like melting the front of the Looftlighter. This problem does seldom affect the functionality of the lighter, mere the looks of it.

How much electricity does my Looftlighter consume?

The Looftlighter consumes 1800 W (EU) and 1500 W (U.S) per hour. But since the lighter isn’t used more than a few minutes each time the cost is low. Approximately 0,003€/minute ($0,004/minute).

Which charcoal should I use?

We highly recommended using high-quality charcoal. This will result in faster lighting, fewer sparks and a more steady cooking temperature. If you use briquettes the lighting time will be a bit longer. Briquettes are made from charcoal powder compressed with corn starch which will also result in more smoke.

Can I use my Looftlighter indoors?

Yes, you can! The Looftlighter is designed for both outdoor and indoor use. It is optimal for lighting your fireplace, wood burner or iron stove. Tip: The Looftlighter is perfect to ”pre-heat” the chimney for say 30 seconds before lighting the wood.

My Looftlighter is broken, can you repair it?

No. It is not allowed to open up the lighter for repair or modification due to our safety standards. If your lighter is broken, please refer to our warranty claim procedures.

Will Looftlighter work with any kind of grill or barbecue?

The Looftlighter works perfectly with any kind of grill or barbecue. Whether you decide to use your weber kettle, barrel smoker or kamado-style barbecue, the lighter will perform equally well.
